Hi Nick,

SA Shines at National Tourism Awards

SA Shines at National Tourism Awards

60 tourism operators from South Australia flew the flag in Hobart as the 2009 Tour Down Under was named Australia’s best major festival & event and the Adelaide Convention Centre was named Australia’s best meetings & business tourism venue at the 2009 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. This is an excellent result for the State and all of our finalists should be very proud of their achievements. Read more.
To be part of the 2010 South Australian Tourism Awards email awards@satic.com.au. Invitations to the Launch on 7 April are still to come, so stay tuned.

Regional Tourism Awards

Regional Tourism Awards

For the first time, SATIC is working with three regional tourism offices to present online Regional Tourism Awards in the Yorke Peninsula, Fleurieu Peninsula and Clare Valley. Nominations are now open for the Yorke Peninsula and Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism Awards, with Clare Valley to open on 10 March. The categories differ depending upon the region but are streamlined to line-up with the State Awards, which will be an online process in 2010. Each regional entry also receives a complimentary entry into the South Australian Tourism Awards. We encourage you to enter and see what you can learn about your business just by going through the process.

Climate Action Certification

Climate Action Certification

Jade is currently working with South Australian tourism operators on the Climate Action Certification Program. The Climate Action Certification program provides meaningful ways to reduce your environmental impact and to promote your business’ response to climate change with recognisable and credible branding supported by Ecotourism Australia.
The South Australian Tourism Commission and Ecotourism Australia will be making strong statements at ATE10 promoting SA’s sellers at the event as Climate Action Certified, positioning South Australia in the international marketplace as Australia’s premier sustainable destination.
Tourism consumers are increasingly concerned about climate change and are looking for acceptable options. Operators that can be easily recognised as making real efforts to address those concerns will stand out from the crowd and reap the rewards.
